Overview

T.H. Easter Consulting is conducting an executive search for a Project Manager.  Our Client is a Design Build, Construction Management and General Contracting firm, located in Washington D.C.  They are recognized as an emerging leader in Educational, Municipal and Commercial facility construction. Established in 2006, the company benefits from 30 years of solid, innovative construction experience and has secured its place in the industry as a thriving corporation with a seasoned staff of professionals. 

Responsibilities

  • Participates in pre-construction and buy-out phase following project award;
  • Creates and manages project schedule, budget, profitability and change orders;
  • Writes scopes of work, interpreting drawings, specifications and relevant code requirements;
  • Conducts recurring project meetings with project team, customer and project professionals, setting milestones and ensuring safety, quality control, LEED and contract compliance are met.
  • Nurtures customer relationships and identifies new business opportunities;
  • Manages relationships with architects, engineers, suppliers and identifies new or replacement resources;
  • Manages work performance of project team to include: site superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, junior project managers, project engineers and project accounting professionals;
  • Generates recurring project progress reports;
  • Manages the timely and accurate entry of project data into construction management and invoice systems;
  • Ensures timely and cost effective project closeout
  • Manages and develops junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in construction management, engineering or architecture from an accredited institution;
  • 5+ years employment experience performing duties described above with direct management, budget and schedule responsibility for school, commercial construction projects $10M or greater value; in DC, VA and MD
  • Competent employee development, coaching skills and people management skills;
  • Solutions oriented with excellent problem solving and negotiation;
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent computer and math skills;
  • Proficient experience using construction management software such as: Prolog, Primavera, Constructware, Timberline, etc.;
  • Must have a current Driver’s License
