Overview

T.H. Easter Consulting is conducting an executive search for a LEED Coordinator / Architectural Assistant.  Our Client is a Design Build, Construction Management and General Contracting firm, located in Washington D.C.  They are recognized as an emerging leader in Educational, Municipal and Commercial facility construction. Responsibilities

  • The LEED Coordinator/Architectural Assistant reports to the Pre-Construction Manager. Participates in business development pursuits by searching, screening and pursuing compatible project bid opportunities; 
  • Reviews solicitations and scopes of work to prepare sustainability-related sections of bids;
  • Participates with estimators to solicit and qualify subcontractor bids;
  • Researches green products and approaches, generates recommendations and prepares presentations;
  • Conducts take-offs, prepares scale and full size supplemental project drawings, prepares computations, performs drafting using AutoCAD and other software;
  • Conducts preliminary studies of proposed projects to obtain information as to space and design requirements, obtains measurements and makes sketches preliminary to or supplemental to working drawings, and provides reports;
  • Conducts research in governing agencies' guidelines and regulations; assists in the inspection of construction work and materials for compliance with approved building plans;
  • Conducts site visits and field investigations to obtain data, measurements and information needed for estimating, pre-construction planning, quality controlled execution and compliance adherence;
  • Prepares LEED compliance plan, responsible for LEED compliance coordination with subcontractors, vendors, customers and internal project team and prepares LEED reports;
  • Assists project team in the pre-construction and mobilization process ensuring readiness to satisfy LEED requirements;
  • Assists project staff with LEED related RFIs, submittals and project matters related to LEED standards;
  • Tracks, measures and reports key performance metrics working with management staff to execute project methods and practices ensuring LEED certification standards are met throughout project;
  • Monitors LEED rating system changes, credits and rule interpretations and provides timely information and advisement to management;
  • Coordinates LEED project reviews with estimators, project managers, subcontractors, vendors, project architects, consultants and customers;
  • Researches and answers Code questions; and
  • Serves as Company credentialed LEED liaison, attends and facilitates related meetings.

Qualifications

  • At least two years’ work experience performing the duties and responsibilities described above for U.S. construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in architecture, engineering or construction management.
  • LEED AP Building Design + Construction Credentialed/Certified Professional.
  • Ability to motivate project teams and individuals to achieve required LEED credits and certification;
  • Technical knowledge of policy and sustainability best practices in areas including: green purchasing, energy efficiency and conservation, materials management, natural resource management, green building, low impact development, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, climate change and renewable energy.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills
  • Valid driver’s license.
